The publication, Hamshahri, which is directly owned by the Tehran Municipality and ranks among the country’s most widely read daily papers, shocked readers by placing Trump directly inside the crosshairs of a sniper scope. Accompanying the chilling visual was a stark and direct headline declaring that revenge is absolutely certain.

The aggressive media display explicitly cited Iran’s highest authority to back up its menacing message. According to the front page, the vow of retaliation is directly attributed to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei. To further drive the point home, the newspaper included a subheading stating that war criminals must be confronted, creating a highly tense media moment amid ongoing global friction.

In addition to the main threat, the front page served as a platform for several high-ranking religious figures to demand immediate action. The publication featured statements from multiple senior clerics who called for decisive retaliation against the United States and Israel. Speaking shortly after Khamenei issued an official letter following the signing of a US-Iran memorandum of understanding, Haddad-Adel emphasized that the comments were not meant to shut down diplomatic channels.
