Taylor Swift Received New Nickname ‘Warrior’ by Her Fans After New Photo Appears to Show Her ‘Crying’ During First Concert After the Terror Attack
The ‘Fortnight’ singer said she was in ‘system overload’ when fans first welcomed her to the stage at Wembley Stadium.
Taylor Swift made an emotional return to London during the first night of concerts at Wembley Stadium, and her first performance since a foiled terror plot potentially targeting her Eras Tour forced her to cancel three shows in Vienna.
A photo of the pop superstar on stage Thursday evening has garnered much attention online as fans believe it captured the moment the 34-year-old began crying while kicking off the second leg of shows in the capital city.
“She was crying last night when she came out??!!! Honestly, I hope this photo hits anyone who dares to assume she doesn’t care straight in the heart,” one exclaimed. “We love you @taylorswift13 WELCOME HOME #LondonTSTheErasTour.”
A second simply declared her “a warrior,” an apparent nod to Swift’s resurfaced confession identifying acts of violence at one of her concerts as her “biggest fear.”
“Ohhh Taylor, we love you,” another wrote. “always, no matter what.” A clip of her speech midway through the show has also gone viral as fans pointed out that she seemed quite sentimental about the prospect of wrapping up the global tour this December.
“When I came out on stage and saw this crowd for the first time tonight, I just, like my whole mind went blank. It was so powerful the way you welcomed us to the stage tonight,” Swift told the crowd. “It was system overload, where I just was like, ‘I can’t believe that 92 thousand of you are being this loving and caring and generous to us. It was just the best. It was just the best feeling in the world and I’ve just been trying to chill out the whole rest of the night. It’s just wonderful what you did for us and I just adore you.”
“Every single time we get to look at a crowd like this,” Swift continued, “It’s just unforgettable. All of us are going to miss it so much.”
Another Swiftie pointed out that there was seperate moment during her Aug. 15 concert where the 14-time Grammy winner “conveyed all of the emotions that have built up in her since last week” with just her stage presence and “without any words.”
Tearjerking moments aside, Thursday’s show in the capital city will be hard to beat for other reasons, as Swift brought out special guest and local talent Ed Sheeran for a series of mashups. With another four shows to go, fans are patiently awaiting what other surprises she may have up her sleeve.
