Taylor Swift Persuaded Her Fans ‘I Don’t Want to Fall Again,Wish Me Luck’ as She Attempts an Eras Tour First
‘I’ve never done [this] on the Eras Tour,’ she admitted to the crowd.
Nearly a year and a half into the Eras Tour and Taylor Swift is still working in new things!
The multi-hyphenate superstar tried something out for the first time during her second-to-last concert in Europe, debuting a surprise song in London that she’d yet to perform live since kicking off the massive undertaking in March 2023.
In a new video of the first surprise song of the evening on Monday, Aug. 19, originally uploaded to TikTok by a fan named Christian Davis and reposted to X by another fan account, Swift begins singing “Long Live,” from Speak Now—a song that elicited visceral screams from fans, as it was previously added, then removed, from the permanent setlist.
But after finishing the chorus, she revealed that it was actually a mashup, admitting to the crowd, “Okay, so this next one I’ve never done on the Eras Tour.”
“Wish me luck!” she added enthusiastically as she transitioned to the Fearless track “Change.”
This summer’s European leg of the world tour has seen a number of firsts, including the first time she repeated a color combination with her updated 1989 costumes, the first time she played a song about her ex, Joe Alwyn, the first time the crowd left her puzzled with their unusually in-sync choreography, and one of many first nods to her beau Travis Kelce.
It’s clear Swift is having an absolute blast in the English capital, where she’ll perform once more on Aug. 20 before taking an extended break, kicking off the final leg of the beloved concert tour in November. She handled a mid-song technical difficulty like an “absolute pro” late last week and had the best reaction after her dancer Kam pranked her on-stage.
