BREAKING NEWS: Kim Kardashian reacts as BFF Ivanka Trump gives daughter Arabella a Taylor Swift inspired cake for her 13th birthday
Kim Kardashian shared her reaction to the Taylor Swift-inspired cake her BFF Ivanka Trump gave her daughter Arabella for her 13th birthday.
The daughter of former President Donald Trump, 42, shared photos of the custom cake to her Instagram on Wednesday and called Arabella her ‘favorite Swiftie.’
The cake had the lyric to Taylor Swift’s hit track Blank Space, ‘Boys only want love if it’s torture,’ written on it in white frosting.
The theme may have been awkward for Kardashian as she and Swift have feuded for years, with the singer recently releasing a diss track about the SKIMS founder.
But that didn’t stop Kardashian from commenting on the post. ‘Happy Birthday Arabella,’ wrote Kardashian, 43, followed by a white and pink heart emoji.
Ivanka — who is doing her best to push through following the attempted assassination on her father Donald Trump over the weekend — gushed over her daughter in Wednesday’s birthday tribute.
Along with photos of Arabella’s cake — which, when sliced open, was filled with red icing — Ivanka shared new photos of the teen and her family with Jared Kushner.
‘Happy 13th birthday to my incredible daughter, Arabella! Watching you grow into a teenager feels like a dream,’ Ivanka began.
‘Your beautiful singing and piano playing, our unforgettable horseback riding adventures, the strength and commitment you show in your Brazilian jiu-jitsu practice and our special girls-only date nights are moments I will forever cherish.’
She finished, ‘Arabella, you inspire and amaze me every day. You are a remarkable young woman and my heart overflows with love for you. Happy Birthday!’
Ivanka and husband Jared are also parents to sons Joseph, 9, and Theodore, 7.
Kardashian and Ivanka have been friends for over a decade, after initially bonding ‘nearly a decade ago at the Met Gala over motherhood and being new moms,’ as reported by Us Weekly.
Ivanka turned out for Kim’s lavish 43rd birthday party last October and they attended the grand opening of the Fontainebleau in Las Vegas in December.
They’ve also worked together on prison reform since Kim famously convinced Ivanka’s father to overturn Alice Marie’s conviction in 2018.
Meanwhile, Kim’s long-standing feud with Taylor Swift dates back to 2016.
Kim and her ex-husband Kanye West famously fell out with the musician that year over lyrics in the rapper’s Famous track, in which he referred to the singer as a ‘b***h*’ – which West claimed Taylor had approved, yet she denied.
At the time, keen on proving his point in the feud, Kim shared footage of her then-spouse talking to the singer about his single Famous – in which he also said that he and the singer might have sex.
The shared clip led to a huge social media outcry, with Taylor’s Instagram and Twitter account being bombarded with snake emojis.
In a 2023 interview with TIME, Swift admitted that that dispute ‘took me down psychologically to a place I’ve never been before.’
She added that her distress made her move ‘to a foreign country’ in the aftermath.
But a source told PEOPLE that Kim had put the bad blood behind her – and she hopes that Taylor can learn to do the same.
‘She’s over it and thinks Taylor should move on,’ the source said, adding that Kim ‘doesn’t get why [Swift] keeps harping on it.’
‘It’s been literally years,’ they emphasized.
