Donald Trump Says He ‘Hates’ Taylor Swift After Singer Endorses Kamala Harris in 2024 Presidential Election
The singer called Harris “a steady-handed, gifted leader” in her recent endorsement post
Donald Trump can’t seem to shake off his feelings about Taylor Swift.
On Sunday, Sept. 15, the Republican presidential candidate, 78, shared a post on his social media platform Truth Social, where he reacted to Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Trump wrote in a post.
Swift, 34, officially endorsed Harris, 59, in the presidential race on Instagram on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The move was done shortly after Harris and Trump wrapped their first debate.
“Like many of you, I watched the debate tonight,” the singer began the caption of her post, which included a photo of herself holding a cat. “If you haven’t already, now is a great time to do your research on the issues at hand and the stances these candidates take on the topics that matter to you the most. As a voter, I make sure to watch and read everything I can about their proposed policies and plans for this country.”
After calling out the fake A.I. pictures Trump’s campaign used of her to fake an endorsement, Swift went on to write, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”
She then called Harris “a steady-handed, gifted leader” and added, “I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.” She also complimented Harris’ running mate, Tim Walz, for “standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
Swift continued, “I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice. Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make. I also want to say, especially to first time voters: Remember that in order to vote, you have to be registered! I also find it’s much easier to vote early. I’ll link where to register and find early voting dates and info in my story.”
The pop star ended her statement by signing off as a “Childless Cat Lady,” a reference to the unfavorable 2021 comments made by Trump’s running mate, J.D. Vance.
