How Taylor Swift Helped WWE Wrestler Jeff Jarrett’s Family Amid His Wife’s Illness
WWE wrestler Jeff Jarrett set the record straight about a rumor that Taylor Swift once babysat his kids.
During a recent interview with WREG News Channel 3 in Memphis, Jarrett explained that Swift is a “friend of the family” and was “very good to my family during a very, very tough period.”
When his wife, Jill, who died in 2007, became ill, Taylor “was like a big sister” to his daughters, Joslyn, Jaclyn and Jerlyn.
“Taylor came over, took the girls baking cookies, and just hung out at the house,” Jarrett told the news station. “I can’t say enough good things about Taylor.”
He continued, “She’s just a sweetheart. I still call her ‘our girl,’ and now she’s up hanging in the NFL circles,” referencing Swift’s relationship with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
Of the childcare rumor, Jarrett clarified, “She was never on the Jeff Jarrett payroll. So, technically, not a babysitter.”
This isn’t the first time the pro wrestler has opened up about his connection with Swift. Jarrett previously recalled how one of his daughters portrayed a younger version of the pop star in her music video for “Mine.”
“The ‘Mine’ video is so creative. And my daughter, Jaclyn, looked like a little Taylor,” he told the Instinct Culture podcast in 2021 of the 2010 music video. “Taylor, being as bold as she always is, just said, ‘I want Jaclyn in the video.'”
Today, Swift is in the midst of her wildly popular Eras Tour. She next plays in Zürich on July 9 and 10 before traveling to Milan for two more shows on July 13 and 14.
