JUST IN: Taylor Swift Trolls Pal Ryan Reynolds on Social Media Ahead of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ SAGA
Taylor Swift showed her love and support for her pal Ryan Reynolds in the most hilarious way for his upcoming film, Deadpool & Wolverine.
Swift took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, July 25 (just one day ahead of the movie’s release on July 26), urging her fans to grab tickets for the latest Marvel Studios film featuring her close friend, but couldn’t resist poking some fun at Reynolds – who is also the husband of Blake Lively – along the way.
In the post, the 34-year-old singer praised one of her “best friends” for his dedication to the film. “Over the past few years I have watched one of my best friends on this planet pour every bit of his heart, soul, sweat, time, energy, jokes, pain, joy, rebellion, darkness, and magic into this film,” she wrote in the caption. “He’s created the best work of his life, and this film feels like an actual joy portal, a wild escape from reality, and an abs sandwich. I don’t know how he did it,” she continued.
While many fans obviously assumed she was talking about Reynolds, Swift clarified it was his co-star Hugh Jackman she was referring to, by ending with, “But that’s just Hugh for you!”
Swift accompanied the post with a group photo with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy, Lively, Reynolds, and Jackman, saying, “These other randoms crashed the photo and we were too polite to ask them to leave,” referring to the couple.
Swift playfully concluded the post, clarifying her close friendship with Reynolds and his wife, Lively, writing, “Shout out to Wade Wilson, aka my godkids’ sperm donor!” She also included a link for fans to purchase tickets.
Rumors about Swift’s cameo in the film have been swirling, but the actor recently put them to rest. “I will say once and for all that the cameo thing with Taylor—that is not in this film,” Reynolds told E! News on Monday, July 22.
