Taylor Swift Fans Call Out Double Standard For Travis Kelce, Justin Herbert

Los Angeles Chargers QB Justin Herbert and his fiancee Madison Beer attracted a lot of attention yesterday when a video of the two of them sitting lovingly together at training camp went viral. But while some fans rolled their eyes or praised the happy couple, Taylor Swift’s fans had a different response.

A contingent of Swift fans expressed outrage that Herbert and Beer didn’t receive the same level of negative attention that they feel Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce would receive if they did something similar.

“If this was Travis and Taylor that had done something like this, we’d never hear the end of how awful they are, how attention seeking they are and how distracted Travis is, and not a team player for God forbid interacting with his wife after practice,” one Swift fan wrote.

“Can you even imagine the outrage and the hate this would generate! And honestly this is so performative in my pov!” wrote a third.

Overblown?
Not everyone believes that there’s the same double standard in place though. Some NFL fans have replied to the Swifties by pointing out that a large portion of the comments on the video are negative.

“Justin and Madison are getting cooked by football fans too lol. The only difference is that it would have been on 5 news outlets by the time I woke up in Taylor’s case. It’s not every time we need to do the ‘if Taylor did this’ trend,” one pointed out.
