Kylie Kelce is sharing why he no longer wants to share her kids’ faces on social media.
The podcaster and mom of four, 34, joined new mom Tay Lautner on the latest episode of her podcast The Squeeze, where the two discussed the realities of motherhood. During the conversation, Kylie opened up about her feelings surrounding putting her kids on social media as her family has become more famous
Life has gone on, and things have changed. I post infrequently overall, and I post even less frequently about our children,” she said. “I didn’t want to exclude them entirely, [but] I made it a point to stop putting their faces on my social media.”
The mom of four said she and her husband Jason Kelce faced a “turning point” with sharing pictures of their daughters Finnley, 18 months, Bennett, 3, Elliotte, 5, and Wyatt, 7, after the release of his documentary when she realized that people “can’t draw a line for themselves.” From there, she decided that she had to “very clearly” draw it for others.
“I feel really strongly about going forward just for their safety to not include them in anything,” Kylie explained. “I overall want to ensure my kids’ safety, and that’s always going to be the top priority.”
The Not Gonna Lie podcaster went on to share why she chooses to be very “intentional” about what she posts regarding her children.
“I have a lot of like running thoughts of like our kids are growing up in a world where all of this just lives forever,” she explained. “It’s not like something happens, and you talk about it, and the story lives on through word of mouth. Our kids are going to be able to go online and search this stuff and see a full archive of all of the things that they were involved in [and] that they were discussed on.”
She added, “I tried to have some intention, like be intentional about the fact that they are going to have access to that.
While she may not post their faces online often, the proud mom is always sharing tidbits about their growth and her motherhood journey on her podcast.
During the Thursday, July 30 episode of Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, the girl mom, who has a tight-knit relationship with her daughters, revealed that she was “just weeks away” from her daughter Elliotte going to kindergarten, adding that she “just barely got through” when her eldest daughter Wyatt started school.
“Why do they want to leave? Why do they always wanna leave you?” she jokingly questioned. “To be fair, my second is the one who told me she would never leave me. Ellie has told me that she’s going to live with us forever. Jason doesn’t necessarily agree with this, but I think that we had four kids to better our odds of at least one never leaving us.”
Kylie went on to admit she’s “75% joking” about not wanting her daughters to leave.
“Of course, I want our kids to go out and be contributing members of society, and I want them to go out and make the world a better place. And I want them to go out and have drive and ambition. And I want them to go and do amazing things,” she explained. “But also, I want them to come home as often as possible.”
“I want them to visit me, and I want them to spend time with me, and I want to know about their lives, and I want to be involved in it in an appropriate, healthy way,” Kylie added. “But don’t leave me. I don’t like it. I don’t like it one bit.”
