Maren Morris Jokes She Had a ‘Cinderella Moment’ with Miranda Lambert at Taylor Swift’s Wedding as They Accidentally Swapped Shoes
Morris pulled up to the “Opalite” singer and the Kansas City Chiefs tight end’s wedding at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 3 with some of Nashville’s biggest names. Joining her on the van ride was Lambert and husband Brendan McLoughlin, Kelsea Ballerini, Sugarland’s Kristian Bush, Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman and husband Stephen Schlapman, Little Big Town married bandmates Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook, and Little Big Town’s Phillip Sweet and wife Rebecca Arthur, as previously revealed by Lambert.
The “My Church” singer said that going to the wedding with her A-list country pals was “such a relief” because she was originally planning on attending solo because she “did not know who was going until pretty close to the event because it was so shrouded in secrecy.” Eventually, she “got into cahoots” with her friends, and got ready with Ballerini before the wedding.
It was nice to just know people that would be there. ‘Cause you’re just like, ‘I don’t know. I’m going by myself,’ ” said Morris, who is friends with Swift, 36, and has collaborated musically with the pop star.
She continued, “It was nice, and I saw several other people, like Nashville people there, which was so lovely. Seeing The Love Junkies, ran into Eric Church and his wife, Katherine, on the dance floor, Kane Brown and his wife and I had a great chat. Like, it was just like, ‘I can’t believe all the Nashville people are here.’ It was fun to reconnect with some people I hadn’t seen in a couple years, in country and outside.”
