Coming for Kate’s Crown? Peter Phillips’ New Wife Harriet Sparks Copycat Comparisons as Her Fashion, Hobbies, Holidays and Charity Work Mirror the Princess of Wales
Is Harriet Phillips simply finding her place within the British Royal Family, or is she quietly following in the footsteps of one of its most admired women, Catherine, Princess of Wales?
That is the question royal watchers are increasingly asking after Peter Phillips’ new wife attracted attention for a series of striking similarities between her lifestyle and that of her royal relative, Kate Middleton.
Since marrying Princess Anne’s son, Peter Phillips, on June 6, 2026, Harriet has gradually become a familiar face around the Royal Family. However, her growing public profile has also brought comparisons with the Princess of Wales, with observers noticing what they believe is an increasingly familiar pattern.
First came the fashion.
Harriet has repeatedly stepped out wearing pieces from designers and fashion houses closely associated with Kate. From elegant tailored outfits to accessories and footwear, her choices have reminded royal fashion enthusiasts of the Princess of Wales’s well-established wardrobe.
Her appearance at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this year particularly attracted attention. Harriet wore several pieces from brands that have long been favourites of Catherine, including Penelope Chilvers boots, a Jane Taylor hat and jewellery from Kiki McDonough.
While sharing fashion preferences is hardly unusual, the similarities have certainly given royal fashion watchers something to discuss.
But it appears the comparisons do not end with clothing.
Harriet, a former NHS specialist nurse, also shares several lifestyle interests with Catherine. Both women enjoy outdoor activities, exercise and spending time in nature. Harriet has spoken enthusiastically about walking, running, cycling, playing football with the children and wild swimming.
Interestingly, she has also revealed that Scotland is her favourite holiday destination, describing the Royal Family’s annual summer gathering at Balmoral as a wonderful family experience.
These shared interests have added another layer to the growing comparisons between the two women.
However, perhaps the most interesting similarity has emerged in their charitable interests.
Harriet recently took on her first royal patronage, becoming patron of Home-Start Cotswolds, an organisation supporting parents and families with young children.
The appointment is particularly meaningful because of her professional background. Having spent 24 years working in the NHS, specialising in infant mental health and supporting vulnerable children and families, Harriet already has considerable experience in the field.
Her new charitable responsibility also brings her into an area closely associated with Catherine, who has spent years championing early childhood development through initiatives such as The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.
Harriet has explained that the appointment felt like a natural continuation of her professional interests rather than an attempt to reinvent herself.
And there is another interesting detail: Harriet has openly acknowledged that she admires Catherine and considers her someone she can approach for advice and guidance as she adjusts to royal life.
Describing the Princess of Wales as open-hearted, Harriet revealed that she would feel comfortable turning to her whenever she needed advice.
