Selena Gomez ‘marriage over’ video sends fans into meltdown — but the truth behind the tears is far less dramatic
clip of Selena Gomez appearing emotional on what was claimed to be a live stream has ripped across X and TikTok in the last 24 hours, with thousands of posts insisting the singer has walked out on her marriage to producer Benny Blanco after an alleged leaked photo involving a much younger OnlyFans model.
In the circulating footage, Gomez is seen wiping her eyes and looking visibly distressed.
Captions and comments quickly filled with heartbreak emojis, claims she had “moved out of their New York apartment,” and speculation about what Blanco was (or wasn’t) doing in response. The problem? None of it checks out.The tearful video is not new and has nothing to do with her marriage.
It dates back to January 2025 and shows Gomez reacting to news about immigration enforcement and deportations. The accompanying “leaked” photo of Blanco with a 21-year-old model has been flagged as AI-generated. Meanwhile, Gomez and Blanco — who married in a private California ceremony on 27 September 2025 — have continued posting affectionate content and recently marked their first wedding anniversary.
Despite the facts, the rumour has taken on a life of its own. Fans have flooded comment sections with messages of support for Gomez and criticism of Blanco, while others have pointed out the recycled nature of the clip and called for better media literacy. As of now, neither Gomez nor Blanco has addressed the latest round of speculation. Their public social media activity continues to show a couple still very much together.
In classic internet fashion, a months-old video and a fake image were enough to convince a large chunk of the timeline that a high-profile marriage had spectacularly collapsed overnight.
