3 people arrested in Jefferson County retail theft investigation
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Lyndon police officers arrested three people Monday after they allegedly stole from multiple businesses.
In a news release, police said 27-year-old Caloria Waters, 34-year-old Elijah Waters and 32-year-old Kaylyn Cashaw were arrested as retail theft continues to be an issue in Jefferson County.
According to court documents, officers responded to a Walgreens after a report that three people had stolen from the store. Police said they found the three suspects sitting in a vehicle outside the store.
Police viewed surveillance footage that showed the three suspects putting merchandise in a basket and leaving without paying. An employee said the merchandise totaled $751.98.
Police found the Walgreens merchandise inside the vehicle. Officers also found merchandise from CVS and Dollar General stores in Jeffersontown that had been reported stolen.
According to police, the suspects stole from Walgreens after allegedly stealing from CVS and Dollar General. The total value of merchandise from CVS and Dollar General was more than $350.
Court documents state Caloria Waters also allegedly stole thousands of dollars in merchandise on three occasions from the Victoria’s Secret at Mall St. Matthews.
Police said she stole $658.75 worth of merchandise on April 22, $2,295 worth on June 14 and $1,342.55 worth on June 21.
Court documents state Caloria Waters bypassed all points of sale and did not attempt to pay each time. Police said all incidents were captured on surveillance footage.
According to court documents, Caloria Waters was already scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 10 after pleading guilty to multiple charges, including receiving a stolen firearm and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
She was previously released after a $15,000 bond was partially secured. After she was arrested on theft charges Monday, she was released from custody again after posting another partially secured bond tied to the $10,000 bond that was set.
Caloria Waters was charged with:

Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
No registration plates
No registration receipt
Obscuring the identity of a machine $10,000 or more
None/improper use of a temporary tag when required

Elijah Waters was charged with:

Kaylyn Cashaw was charged with:
TBUT or DISP shoplifting $500<$1,000
TBUT or DISP shoplifting
Engaging in organized crime
All three defendants were arraigned in court Tuesday and have preliminary hearings scheduled for July 22.
